How to delay getting your Vaio back

  1. Pack your computer using far more than the amount of tape needed to keep the bubble wrap from coming loose while you get it into the box. We have more productive uses for our time than unwrapping a laptop that's been packed tighter than King Tut's mummy, so if we have to work longer than a few seconds getting your computer out, we will go on to someone else's job and get back to yours when we don't have any other work waiting.

  2. Send us a personal or company check instead of a Cashier's Check or Money Order. That way, you get to wait not only for your repair to clear the shop, but for your check to clear the bank as well. Figure 10 days additional time.

  3. Do NOT send an e-mail when you ship your computer, or if you do, be sure to leave out your phone number, e-mail address, or some other information we need. That way, we will have to search all over the place for the missing item(s) when we are preparing your shipping label.

  4. Let us guess what your passwords are. It's a fun thing to occupy us when we don't have anything to do. Since we can't return your machine until it's tested, this might take a while.

  5. Do NOT print a copy of your e-mail and put it in the computer. That way, we'll have to find your e-mail in our inbox, print it out, and match it up with your computer before we can start work.

  6. Send us an "Are we there yet?" e-mail every couple of days. This will immediately send your job to the bottom of the queue, and when it will get back to the top is anybody's guess.

The Bottom Line: If you are mindful of OUR needs, we can work at maximum efficiency for YOU.
